Skydive Vancouver Island has the privilege to partner with The Angels Abreast Dragon Boat Team for an Annual Jump For A Cause weekend. Over the past two seasons the event has grown but one thing has never changed ~ our admiration for the courage of these women and their journeys!
Angels Abreast Dragon Boat Team is a non-profit society comprised of women who are breast cancer survivors. There team members are from Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Parksville and Port Alberni. Through paddling and local fundraisers the team helps to rehabilitate and strengthen survivors and at the same time support local Breast Cancer initiatives.
Their Mission:
"By participating in this sport, we increase public awareness of breast cancer and enable those living with the disease to enjoy full and active lives."
Their Goal:
to continue to raise awareness of breast cancer and to push for a cure
to provide emotional and physical support and promote emotional and physical well-being.
to educate others about the benefits of exercise and rehabilitation after Breast cancer.
to bring Dragon Boating to as large a group of Breast cancer Survivors as possible.
to become a fun and recreational Dragon Boat team.
Their stories certainly touch our hearts and their passion to live life to the fullest is not only inspiring, it is infectious! If you are looking for a reason to skydive for the first time or you want to come out and support these amazing ladies, the Annual Jump For A Cause weekend is a wonderful time to make it happen.
